With the entry into force of the new European F-GAS Regulation (EU 2024/573), industrial refrigeration is moving towards increasingly sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. Starting from January 1st, 2027, the use of refrigerants with a GWP higher than 750 will be no longer permitted in chillers above 12 kW. The new CS-PE range has been developed to support this regulatory and technological transition, in line with our company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Designed for industrial applications from 110 to 300 kW and mainly intended for outdoor installations, the CS-PE series uses R454B refrigerant, an A2L solution with low environmental impact and a GWP below 750.
This design choice combines compliance with upcoming regulations, operational reliability and high energy efficiency, ensuring continuity and safety in industrial refrigeration processes.
The frame is made of galvanized sheet metal coated with polyester powder (RAL 9002), providing high resistance to weathering and a refined appearance, ideal for outdoor installations. Fastening systems are made of passivated carbon steel, fully resistant to corrosion.
With the exception of the first two sizes (112/132), designed in a single-circuit tandem configuration with Scroll compressors, all other sizes feature a dual circuit configuration with four compressors, divided into two independent circuits, each equipped with tandem ON/OFF Scroll compressors.
The CS-PE range is supplied with axial fans designed to ensure high performance and optimal condensation control.
On units above 150 kW, condensation control is managed as standard through AC fans with phase-cut regulation, while EC fans are available as an option. On smaller sizes, EC fans are supplied as standard. The fan selection has been made in compliance with the latest updates to the ErP regulation concerning fan efficiency. In particular, for smaller fan diameters, the adoption of fully EC solutions represents the most effective technical choice and ensures compliance with current regulatory requirements.
The series is designed for flexible adaptation to various applications. Available hydraulic configurations are:
• STD: pump and tank included, water filling either manual or automatic
• WT: onboard pump, no tank
• WTP: without pump or tank
Five different pumps are available, configurable in stand-alone or run/standby mode. All pumps feature silicon carbide seals, compatible with up to 35% ethylene or propylene glycol with corrosion inhibitors. The hydronic circuit integrates shut-off and non-return valves, tank level control (for open-tank versions), air vent, vacuum breaker, and safety valve.
The range uses microchannel condensers made of Long Life Alloy, designed to ensure high resistance and longterm durability. For applications in particularly aggressive environments, specific anti-corrosion treatments are available on request.
Available options include:
• E-coating treatment for microchannel coils and roundtube coils;
• pre-coated fins for models above 220 kW equipped with round-tube coils.
To provide enhanced condenser protection and improved operational reliability, polypropylene air filters are supplied as standard across the entire range.
The range can be supplied either with a brazed plate evaporator, externally insulated with closed-cell material to reduce heat losses and particularly suitable for low water flow rates (CS-PE), or with a shell-and tube evaporator (CS-TE).
The electronic control system fully manages all unit functions and is available in two versions: advanced control (standard) or a 7” touch panel (optional), both compatible with RS485 interface and Carel or ModBus protocols.
