Plastic recycling involves a series of operations that allow the recovery of plastic scraps and waste, transforming them into new raw material usable in production processes. The material, originating from post-consumer or post-industrial sources, is first selected and sorted by polymer type and color. This is followed by grinding, washing, and drying phases to remove contaminants and impurities. The treated material is then plasticized through extrusion and often filtered to improve its quality. It can be transformed into pellets (regranulate) or directly reused in-line, depending on the final applications.
